As an educator with over thirty years experience, I have an interest in providing engaging reading materials for children that will motivate and inspire them as they learn.
I am a new author and my experience self-publishing my first children's book was so positive that I am motivated to continue publishing more books.
Newfoundland is simply a magical place to visit and the history, people, and landscape provide the perfect material for any book.
Writing a children's book to inspire and educate young readers about the history and beauty of the Irish Loop, located on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland is where I started my journey as an author.
I hope you will continue to follow my journey by visiting this website, contacting me on Facebook and Instagram, and continuing to support me by purchasing my books.

As an educator for over 30 years, I always searched for literature that would appeal to my student's interests and compliment the curriculum they needed to learn. Surprisingly there is very little available that combines fiction and non-fiction especially about Canadian provinces. I was inspired to write this book because of these experiences and my observations of a need.
In addition, as a mother and now grandmother, I understand the importance of a great story that is also brought to life by wonderful illustrations. I believe this book has achieved this and more!
I want young readers to enjoy the story, characters, and illustrations but I also want them to learn some interesting facts along the way.
I also believe this book will be enjoyed by adults because of the fun storyline and interesting facts.
I fell in love with Newfoundland the first time I visited several years ago. I loved it so much that I kept returning. About six years ago, my husband and I purchased a home along the Irish Loop in Trepassey and we return there every year. The history, stunning landscape, and kind and funny people have provided much inspiration for this book and books to come. The characters in this book are based on many real people in my life and in Trepassey.
This book was is dedicated to Aunt Cynthia Boland. who passed on very recently. She loved the province she was born in and lived in so much that it was contagious! She proudly spoke about the beauty of Newfoundland and her experiences growing up there and she was thrilled when we bought property there. I will think of her every time I visit this beautiful province.
